Description by OLDIES.com:
A mischievous Mexican gunslinger and a lovely American insect expert provide plenty of headaches for a gang of counterfeiters in this offbeat B-Western action-comedy. "Devil" Jackson and his cutthroat henchmen kill a drilling engineer and take over a desert silver mine. But two undercover agents, the boisterous Joaquin Flores and his guitar-playing sidekick Pedro, manage to infiltrate the operation. Joining forces with Pat, the beautiful mine owner, the agents battle to take back possession of the priceless ore deposits.
Fighting Caballero was directed and co-written by the amazingly prolific Elmer Clifton, a Hollywood veteran who began as an actor (including a role in The Birth Of A Nation),introduced Clara Bow to the screen, and had a hand in more than 400 scripts! Amusingly, star Rex Lease - whose claim to fame was his fight scenes in Westerns, dating back to the silent days - insists that his comic sidekick do the fighting for him in the film's best action scene! - Tom Weaver
Product Description:
Former silent screen serial queen Dorothy Gulliver stars in this very low-budget Western as the owner of a mine terrorized by a gang of ruffians. Looking into several troubling occurrences at the site, including the murder of a mining engineer, Pat (Gulliver) learns that Devil Jackson (George Chesebro) and his henchmen are using the location for their counterfeiting operations. Happily, a couple of undercover agents, Joaquin (Rex Lease) and Pedro (Earl Douglas), are present to save Pat from certain death in the hands of the gang. FIGHTING CABALLERO was released by an outfit calling itself Superior Talking Pictures, Inc. -- a distinct misnomer.
