Considered his best western by fans and critics alike, over-the-top EuroCult director Sergio Bergonzelli tested the boundaries of psychosexual kink in this very early Spaghetti Western that would quickly become a lurid staple of the genre, and the trademark of his groundbreaking and visionary giallo films. Bergonzelli spared no expense as a massive and elaborate western town set was erected at Elios Studios. The set went on to become the most frequently filmed western town in Italy.
