Description by OLDIES.com:

The Retro Science Fiction Adventures box set features a wind-up retro walking metal toy robot (almost 9" tall!) and six DVDs, all packaged in a black lacquered wooden storage box with clear plastic sliding front.

ATOMIC RULERS OF THE WORLD (1964): The distant Emerald planet has discovered a secret plot on Earth so diabolical that it threatens the entire galaxy. The rogue nation of Mirapolia is distributing atomic weapons throughout the globe, determined to rule the world or destroy it. The high council of the Emerald planet sends their bravest hero, Starman, to defeat the Mirapolians and remove the deadly menace. Drawing equally on the unabashed heroics of the original "Superman" series and the atomic fear of Godzilla films, the Japanese television series "Super Giant" was assembled into full-length features for American audiences. The combination of martial arts action and sci-fi thrills made for an unusual and stunning adventure, unmatched even today.

RADAR MEN FROM THE MOON, VOLUMES 1 & 2 (1952): The brave-hearted Commando Cody, "Sky Marshal of the Universe," rockets into action to save the earth in this classic 12 episode sci-fi extravaganza. A string of mysterious bombings striking at our nation's defense systems precipitates the call for the invincible Cody (George Wallace), who's equipped with a state-of-the-art flying suit and space ship. Tracing the source of the attacks to the moon, he travels there and encounters the nefarious Retik (Roy Barcroft), ruler of an advanced civilization. The moonmen are cultivating an atomic substance called lunarium which will power their awesome weaponry in their bid to conquer the Earth. The chilling ray-gun assaults, nightmarish volcanic eruptions and out-of-this-world conclusion make this a sensational galactic adventure. One of Republic Pictures' most engaging serials, Radar Men From The Moon demonstrates the studio's remarkable creativity as well as its resourcefulness. This cliffhanger incorporates footage from their previous chapterplays Darkest Africa (1936), King Of The Rocket Men (1949) and The Purple Monster Strikes (1945), the latter of which also featured Roy Barcroft as the notorious space fiend. 2-DVDs.

FLASH GORDON, VOLUME 1 (1954): Four thrilling episodes from the golden age of television! Based on Alex Raymond's legendary sci-fi comic strip hero, these vintage television episodes present the journeys of space hero Flash Gordon (Steve Holland). Along with the lovely Dale Arden (Irene Champlin) and the brilliant Dr. Zharkov (Joe Nash), Flash represents the Galaxy Bureau of Investigation in an ongoing quest to keep the cosmos safe. During their adventures, the astral trio travel back in time to retrieve an Earth-threatening bomb, battle a hideous half-man/half-lion terror, and foil the menacing plans of the memory-sapping Mad Witch of Neptune. Produced in Europe and syndicated through 1953-54, these installments from TV's golden age deliver an unceasing array of otherworldly adventures.

PHANTOM FROM SPACE (1953): A mysterious UFO crashes near Los Angeles and unleashes an invisible alien from an unknown planet. "The Phantom" goes on an unwitting rampage of death and destruction as it struggles for survival in a strange new world. A group of valiant scientists race against the clock to find the creature before further disaster ensues. This remarkably serious film noir documentary-styled science-fiction epic was directed by W. Lee Wilder (Billy's brother) who was also responsible for such similarly sober "masterpieces" as The Snow Creature (1954) and Killers From Space (1954).

ROCKY JONES, SPACE RANGER: MENACE FROM OUTER SPACE (1953): An alien rocket hurtles through space, crashing near the laboratory of Professor Newton. He determines the missile originated from the planet Fornax. Space Ranger Rocky Jones heads a team sent to the faraway planet where they discover an advanced race. The aliens have been convinced by the evil Professor Kardos that the Earthlings want to conquer them. While Rocky tries to convince the alien leader of his good intentions, his old enemy, Griff, arrives with a diabolical scheme to subjugate the planet and use their devastating weaponry against Earth. The Space Rangers and the aliens must join forces to battle Griff and his army in a desperate attempt to restore peace to the distant planet. This feature-length epic is a compilation of three episodes from the "Rocky Jones Space Ranger" TV series.

Very Cool Movie Lover: from New York, NY -- February, 16, 2005

I was quite impressed when I received my BOX SET with ROBOT (I ordered all 3). Admittedly, I already had a couple of the movies (I'll give 'em to friends), but it looked neat. Must say, I was impressed -- the toy robots are worth the price of admission all by themselves. I used to have a bunch of these when I was a kid, and it was neat to see them again. Nice storage box, good graphics. Robot even includes one of those little keys to make it walk around. How fun! All-around, very pleased with my purchase. Thanks, Alpha!
